FROM POOR FICO TO GOOD FICO-THE ULTIMATE GOAL
Today I made my first step in repairing my credit report. I went through the report searching for all the inaccurate data that I could locate, such as mispelled name, addresses, bogus accounts, etc. So, after gathering everything that I felt needed to be disputed I mailed my dispute letters to the 3 Major Credit Bureaus, understanding that they have 30 days to either prove the debt is mine or remove these items from my report all together.
I sent the letters certified mail so that I have proof that I infact send the letters and the stamped date on the receipt to prove it as well. This stage of my post will serve a chronicle of my experiences in correcting my credit report and also serve as a tutorial for all of those like myself, who can't afford a credit repair service, but desperately need to improve their credit score. The countdown begins on Day 1, Friday September 7, 2007. Please leave a comment if you have experience in the "self" repairing credit field. Thank you, Tony.
